Today, February 8, 2022, Ceres will go into Gemini Using Jones’s keywords that would mean that the (Ceres) economy goes into the house of regeneration (ninth house — Jones believed in reincarnation so the idea of death is out) in the sign of vivification (Gemini), or the quality of being spirited, alive and vigorous. On the most literal level, we can see that Ceres is countering Punxsutawney Phil saying that there will be an Early Spring. Well, while I love Winter, this one has been bust – at least snow-wise: only one small snowstorm. Instead, we have had weeks of subzero temperatures and days of ice storms. All that ice makes the place shimmer and the trees look like long pendants hanging from the sky, while all that cold has kept us in a Winter Wonderland while ice skaters and anglers dot the lakes — they’ve been frozen since Christmas .
Still, with cold, damp, muddy Spring marching our way, perhaps Ceres is hinting at that we should get cracking and put in those seeds in now ? And order those chicks for the Spring ahead?
Ceres Mythologically
Back to Ceres. Ceres’s glyph is a Question Mark, and named for the Roman goddess (the Greek counterpart was Demeter) who pined for losing her daughter, Prosperina (Greek counterpart was Persephone) to Pluto, god of the Underworld (Greek counterpart was Hades). You find her in the upper right-hand portion of the chart next to the North Node. The other strange glyph on the chart is Black Moon Lilith in the ninth house of understanding.
Marc Jones said Ceres was “economy” or the idea of being frugal and wise with one’s resources. Martha Lang-Westcott differs and claims it is about the need for nurturing. In our chart, the two astrologers’ meanings collapse and the differences fall aside.
Martin Goldsmith says the symbol for the first degree of Gemini is “At an opening, an artist stands in front of a self-portrait and explains what he was aiming for, while audience members talk excitedly amongst themselves.” He suggests this symbol means ushering people into a new way of seeing things that have exciting implications. Looking at our cartoon, I certainly hope Ms. Whoopi gets the Ceres vivification.
James Henry Neel Reed a master fiddler, banjoist, and harmonica player, he is the brother on the right of the header picture, had an amazing repertoire consisting of hundreds of tunes, as well as multiple performance styles all memorized by heart. He was professionally known as Henry Reed, and was born on April 28, 1884, in the Appalachian Mountains of Monroe County, West Virginia. As I do not have an exact location, I picked Zenith West Virginia as it is in the mountains and it has a propitious name: Henry Reed was the zenith of banjo playing.

Astronomer Michael Molnar wrote ‘The Star of Bethlehem – The Legacy of the Magi’ (Rutgers University Press, 1999) in which he deduced Jesus bar Joseph was born on April 17, 6 BC (17.4.748 AUC / 29 Nisan 3755 HC) based on the photograph of a coin. From his website:
“Superposed on the photograph of the coin is what I found: Jupiter underwent two occultations (‘eclipses’) by the Moon in Aries in 6 BC. As the regal ‘star’ which confers kingships – its gift is amplified when Jupiter is in close conjunctions with the Moon (see the astrological chart below, as Jupiter is not by modern terms close but 21 degrees away, but historically the luminaries were allowed orbs of a full 30 degrees).
The second occultation on April 17 6 BC coincided precisely when Jupiter was “in the east,” a condition mentioned twice in the biblical account about the Star of Bethlehem. In August of that year Jupiter became stationary and ‘went before’ (i.e. retrograde) through Aries, where it became stationary again on December 19, 6 BC.
This is when the regal planet ‘stood over.’ – a secondary royal portent also described in the Bible. There is also secondary confirmation from a Roman astrologer that the conditions of April 17, 6 BC were believed to herald the birth of a divine, immortal, and omnipotent person born under the sign of the Jews, which we now know was Aries the Ram (Lamb). The coins of Antioch and ancient astrological documents show that there was a Star of Bethlehem as reported in the biblical account of Matthew.

Molnar continues in his book that the Magi were “wise men” who practiced Greek astrology and saw the star, not a comet and not a supernova.1 The people of Jerusalem did not see the star because they did not know Greek astrology, but Herod did and he took action against the babe. In the Bible, Molnar writes that the star appeared in the “east” which was Aries and that was unusual, which is why it signified the birth of the promised Messiah.
I chose sunrise, which according to the website TimeandDate for this date in Bethlehem, Israel is at about 6 am. This makes Jesus’s ascendant be 05 Taurus 15 or the symbol of a “bridge that spans a gorge” how he transforms physical earthly limitation into assets. This symbol, Jones writes, ” is all about the possibility of the continuance of the human experience” through someone who can “instinctively channels his powers to the ultimate benefit of mankind”. Its keyword is “Channelship.”
The layout I have chosen is the whole house method, the Hellenic style prevalent at his time of birth. Looking at the chart, it is obvious he has quite a preponderance in Taurus, that Marc Jones gives the keyword of “Virility”. Jesus also has another preponderance , this time in Pisces, with the keyword “Sympathy”. This makes a rather nice image of a strong man who is kind and gentle enough to care for others without being condescending.
The chart layout makes Jesus Bar Joseph (son of Joseph as he would have been registered with the Roman authorities) a Sabian Bundle Temperament Type — a person ignoring all others and listening to His own inner voice. Finally, his part of fortune, that mathematically derived point that shows a person’s mission or goal in life is 11 Taurus 58 or “Window Shopping.” The name of the degree is rather humourous in this case, but Jones writes that is it is a symbol of a man’s imagination as a corrective force for human achievement.
I personally think Molnar is right. How bout you? In the mean, either have a Happy Easter or a good Palm Sunday today and come this Thursday, do not forget to wish him a 2,024th birthday.

Rectifying Joe
Joseph P We rectified him to 19 Capricorn with the keyword of “Ability” and putting his Neptune in the twelfth house of big government. His granduncle had that visionary planet in the tenth. house just like his granduncle, the late President John F. Kennedy, but Joe has it in Sagittarius like his grandfather Bobby, and opposite the Senator; both have it intercepted and both were bundle types. Actually the comparisons between the two men is striking.
The family business
The septile in the younger Kennedy’s chart picks up the kinship to his grandfather, while the preponderance of Libra in the ninth house, shows how much his career choice was steered by his family’s encouragement.
Based on his primary running again Senator Ed Markey, one has wonder if the misspelling of Worcester, a major Democratic city outside of Boston, was not unintentional — I do not think his heart was in the race. That said, he did win both the town and county, thanks to swift maneuvers from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) but with Venus at Regulus (and conjunct Trump’s ascendant which made it an interesting choice for the rebuttal), does not give him much of the stomach for the killing fields of politics.
I suspect he is happy being a Congressman, at least for now and at 40 he has time to watch how best to use all that he commands. In the meantime, he likes his job and seems to prefer time with his wife and growing family (currently the Kennedy’s have only daughter Eleanor).
Neptunian dreams
His ascendant Capricorn 19 , shows that while an idealist he has a strong commitment to his family’s liberal ideology. His Mercury in the tenth house in Scorpio, is not the best placement for someone who much talk off the cuff and makes rely on teleprompters and speech writers. But his Uncle Ted, the Senator from Massachusetts, had a similar handicap, and polished his delivery so it was forceful and pointed, relying on his superb retinue of speech writers to write the message.
The Senator’s package was so successful that his career soared after the 1980 DNC convention for the reelection of Jimmy Carter, that many felt Ted had stolen Carter’s thunder in his concession speech. Rousing and passionate, the final lines of “the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives and the dream shall never die” got thunderous applause and Barack Obama liked the idea he bestowed it on 3.6 million chain migration children when he created his “Dreamers Act” because they are “just like us”. Trump not missing a beat, mentioned it in his State of Union changing the emphasis that “Americans are dreamers too.”
Venusian charm
With several planets in Libra, in the ninth house of legislature and law but that ruler, propitiously in the seventh house, is intercepted. Joe’s bundle temperament type, makes him rely on himself than those around him a sharp contrast with older Kennedy’s exuberances. Still both generations do have that determined “intensity” but with Joe it is more like slow smolder.
But he is a Kennedy and that counts for a lot, at least in Massachusetts. Whie the the two planets that contain his bundle — the Moon and Neptune — are more suited to Mohandas Gandhi than an American politician, Joe has the ambition to (Mars in the tenth) to make it all come together, when he is ready to pull it all together.
