A seasonal blue moon happens every few years

This summer the third of the season’s four full moons rises after sunset on Saturday, Aug. 21, though technically the actual full moon occurrence is the next morning, but that would be impossible to see during civil twilight. So the best time to catch it visually it Saturday night.
