Ever wonder what the chart of a mystic looks like when they see a vision that changes their life? Well I do, and so a while back, I think this is when her relics were traveling the US, I did that chart. I am not Catholic, but I do love the Jennifer Jones movie, the Song of Bernadette, and have remained a big fan of hers.
Read moreMy mother when she saw the silent Joan of Arc movie produced in 1928 became her ardent fan, making one realize that Michael Medved’s, the film critic’s comment that “US has no culture but that from Hollywood” has some truth to it. We haven’t had a saint movie in nearly 50 years and faith has dropped to all time lows . MarketWatch, bought by the WSJ a while ago, ran an article today, on the lack of church attendance and faith is causing middle class depression and suicide throughout the Western World. Probably in the other half as well but we have no data from them because they live in oppression.

And if insult was enough, Amazon.smile has been dropped because it’s average payout is $230.00 a year and the Co. doesn’t think that is worth their investment. Instead they are giving to the big charities where they can garner some love. Rodney Dangerfield is right, We cannot garner any respect.
Back to Bernadette
St. Bernadette was born as Marie Bernarde Soubirous on January 7, 1844, in Lourdes, France. She was the eldest child of the nine siblings born to Francois and Louise Soubirous and she saw the first of her 18 ‘visions’ in Lourdes on 11 February 1858. It works out to January 20 1844 on her progressed chart, which works out well for those die hard Orthodox on the Julian calendar who are finally celebrating Christmas today, January 19th, or as they say in the West, Twelfth Night. It comes out in the wash doesn’t it?
The progressed chart has a preponderance in Aquarius. If you use out of orb aspects, her Part of Fortune, 02 Leo 07, is opposite her Sun at 29 Capricorn 58 giving you a T-square at 01 Aries — the start of her true life. Her midheaven is conjunct to Mars and unfortunately also to Uranus suggesting the persecution she will receive because she had a vision, and everyone was jealous they did not.
Thankfully, .in 1862, however, after a thorough enquiry by a Church commission, the local bishop decided the visions were genuine and approved the cult of Our Lady of Lourdes. A church was started the same year. Bernadette spent much of the rest of her life in the convent of the Sisters of Charity at Lourdes. She died in 1879 at the age of thirty-five and was beatified in 1925 and canonized in 1933 — far less than the standard century.
